Curlewis 11/4

As with the weather conditions , the golf on show varied from terrible to the sublime . Nevertheless , it was another successful day for thr GCSGC as the club continues to go from strength to strength .
Playing in one of the early groups , Rob Cosic finished with a score of 38 pts . Sitting in the clubhouse enjoying the 19th , he must have felt confident with the weather conditions turning for the worse . However , scratching the final hole was to prove costly ( if not for the win it was costly as he missed out on a bottle of scotch and got a bottle of wine instead ) .
As the players finished , nobody was getting close to 38 pts until Ante Stosic handed in his card with a score of 39 pts . With very few groups left on the course , the smile on his face was from ear to ear and thoughts of playing at Barwon Heads in the Champ of Champs were on his mind . However , in scenes that only the GCSGC could provide , the final card handed in meant the smile had turned upside down , qualification had slipped through his fingers and the handicap got chopped for nothing .
Following his muched publisized choke from the last tournament , Chris Tyquin finished with a magnificent 40 pts . In what can only be described as sublime golf , Chris showed the poise , talent and character to exorcise his demons from the last month . Congratulations to Chris as he has not only qualified for the end of year final , but also has a healthy lead in the MVP .
The next round is at Queens Park on May 16th and tee off is at 7:30 am . This also happens to be the home course for one of our new sponsor,s Aaron Rayson and we hope to see you all there . I know the handicapper is licking his lips in anticipation at this one .

All the best
