Queens Park 16/5
Once again the handicapper was waiting in great anticipation , for in recent years Queens Park has been a haven for high scoring and Sunday proved to be no different . What started as a cold crisp morning blossomed into a magnificent day with scoring reflecting the excellent conditions . Winning with a score of 44pts was Vlado Tomasevic , 2nd with 43 pts was Josip Peritn snr and 3rd with 42 pts was Ante Stosic . In probably the biggest shock of the day Miro Kurtovic stunned the rest of the field with a rather uninspiring 22pts to take out the Naga award for probably the first time in his illustrious career (thats ok Miro , these things happen to all of us at same stage in our careers chin up mate i,m sure you,ll bounce back ).
Just a reminder to all members that $70 for the 13th beach round is due by the 1st of August due to the booking of the numbers . No late entries will be accepted so we would appreciate your co-operation if we want to play on these types of course again .
Cheers everybody and happy swinging

As with the weather conditions , the golf on show varied from terrible to the sublime . Nevertheless , it was another successful day for thr GCSGC as the club continues to go from strength to strength .
Playing in one of the early groups , Rob Cosic finished with a score of 38 pts . Sitting in the clubhouse enjoying the 19th , he must have felt confident with the weather conditions turning for the worse . However , scratching the final hole was to prove costly ( if not for the win it was costly as he missed out on a bottle of scotch and got a bottle of wine instead ) .
As the players finished , nobody was getting close to 38 pts until Ante Stosic handed in his card with a score of 39 pts . With very few groups left on the course , the smile on his face was from ear to ear and thoughts of playing at Barwon Heads in the Champ of Champs were on his mind . However , in scenes that only the GCSGC could provide , the final card handed in meant the smile had turned upside down , qualification had slipped through his fingers and the handicap got chopped for nothing .
Following his muched publisized choke from the last tournament , Chris Tyquin finished with a magnificent 40 pts . In what can only be described as sublime golf , Chris showed the poise , talent and character to exorcise his demons from the last month . Congratulations to Chris as he has not only qualified for the end of year final , but also has a healthy lead in the MVP .
The next round is at Queens Park on May 16th and tee off is at 7:30 am . This also happens to be the home course for one of our new sponsor,s Aaron Rayson and we hope to see you all there . I know the handicapper is licking his lips in anticipation at this one .
All the best

Queenscliff 14/3
Welcome back everybody and due to unforseen technical reasons we apologise for the recent temporary loss of our web page . Beautiful weather greeted us at Queenscliff which reflected in some excellent scoring for the majority of the players and the winner with a score of 41 pts was Marinko Pausak , 2nd with 40 pts was Zoran Krstevski , 3rd with 39 pts was Chris Tyquin . Playing the back nine first Chris had a rather impressive 24 pts than decided to have a good old fashioned choke with 15 pts on the front . Don,t worry Chris we,ve all had days like that and the only way to fix it up is to get back on the course and exorcise those demons with a win in the next round .
Have a happy Easter everyone and we hope to see you all at Curlewis on the 11th of April at 7-30 am .
POINT LONSDALE 14th Feb
Another great day for the GCSGC where the winner was…..well the handicapper!!! In glorious conditions, many players thought they were in with a chance to win with 3 or 4 under the card.
Little did they know that sitting in the clubhouse was S.Kunovic with a score of 7 under (net 64)
second was A. Medved with a score of 65 (it might be time for a new buggy as the wheels fell off during the last 3 holes)……third was C. Tyquin with a score of 66. Although many players also had a NCR (No Counting Required) score card, Naga was A. Didulica with a net score of 101.
A warm welcome to the new and returning members. As always, we encourage our members to invite new people to join our club.
The next round is a stableford event on March 14th at Queenscliff.Tee off is at 7.30 and we hope to see you all there.
January 17th Clifton Springs
Welcome everybody to the 2010 csgc season . We would especially like to extend a warm welcome to all our new members and also returning members from years passed . We would also encourage our members to invite new people to join our club and we look forward to a successful and prosperous year .
On Sunday in very trying conditions Mathew Velcek won with an excellent 42 pts , 2nd was one of our new members in Mark Vrljic with 40 pts and third was Miro Stosic with 38 pts . In other news Steve Smilovic seemed to leave his A , B , C and D games at home with an inglorious 17 pts……time to hit the practice fairway Steve . 2 shots worth mentioning were Bozo Sesars booming drive on the 14th an estimated 280 meters up hill and into the howling wind and Mathew Velceks NTP on the 17th , hitting the pin and finishing to within a foot of the hole , well done gents . The next round is the 1st round of the Ivan Marks Shield at Point Lonsdale at 7.30am , hope to see you there .
