Queens Park

Queens Park – 29 May 2011

A chilling morning kept a few of our members warm in bed. We had about 20 people attend Queens Park. As the course is familiar to many people we were expecting some big scores.

My highlight of the day was watching Marinko Pausak miss a Birdie put on the 16th from about 1 foot. Good work Monks.

Taking out the round and qualifying for the Champ of Champs was Chris Tyquin on a huge 46points (I had fun chopping your handicap). Coming in second was the ever reliable Ivan Stosic on 40 points and rounding out the top three was John kandic on 39points.

Our Next event is on June 19th at Barwon Valley. Tee off is 7:30am.

Until next time, happy swinging.

Queenscliff – 1 May 2011

Queenscliff – 1 May 2011

As usual our morning kicked off waiting for the Security guard to allow us to cross the bridge to get to the golf Course. Another fine day with no wind and a few drops of rain.

For the second time this year, I had the pleasure of playing a round with the eventual winner. Taking out the Queenscliff tournament was Stipe Kump on 42 Points. I have never seen that many cigarettes smoked in one round but it seemed to work for Stipe. Coming in second was the ever consistent Manners with 39 points and in third spot Was Steve Kunovic on 36 Points.

After 6 Rounds, the following people have qualified for the Champ of Champs.

Adam Fazio
Adrian Began
Frank Cosic
Mark Vrljic
Stipe Kump
Zvonko Lastavec

The MVP is getting tight and the absence of Miro Stosic at Queenscliff has given everyone a chance to catch up in the MVP points. Below is the top 5

Miro Stosic – 130
Stipe Kump – 112
Mark Vrljic – 94
Manners – 87
Josip Peretin Junior – 83

Leading our nearest the pins is

Branko Krstevski – 2
Zvonko Lastavec – 2
Miro Stosic – 2
Chris Tyquin – 2

Longest Drive Leaders
Chris Tyquin – 2
Michael Saba – 2

Finally, the most prestigious award of all is the NAGA. Rob Spehar is the leader on 2.

Our Next event is on May 29th at Queens Park. Tee off is 8am. I am sure some of our handicaps are going to get slashed as it is one of the easiest courses to play on.

Until next time, happy swinging.

Clifton Springs – 17 April 2011

Clifton Springs – 17 April 2011

Firstly the committee would like to thank everyone for turning up on Sunday. With the word going out that there were temporary greens at Clifton Springs, We definitely were not expecting the turnout we got. We ended up having around 35 people turn up which was fantastic effort.

It is probably one of the last times for a while in which we will have perfect conditions to play a round. With no breeze and perfect temperature to play golf, there were going to be some big scores. We were not disappointed.

One of our newest members and newest sponsors Adam Fazio won the round with a Score of 43 points. Adam was off a handicap of 27 on the day but with a great score like that, his handicap is sure to drop dramatically. Coming in second with a score of 41 points was Chris Tyquin and rounding off third position was Josip Peretin SENIOR with 39 points.

By popular demand, we saw the return of Maki Kordic. With a respectable score of 37 points, he may be a deadly force in the tournaments to come.

Our Next even is on May 1st at Queenscliff. Tee off is 7am.

Until next time, happy swinging.
